National Research Council of Italy

CNR, the National Research Council, is the largest public research institution in Italy, founded in 1923. CNR’s participation in the consortium is through the Institute for High Performance Computing and Networking (ICAR-CNR), which offers innovative solutions in terms of research, technology transfer and high education in the areas of intelligent systems with complex functionality and high-performance computing. CNR has been or is currently involved in European projects centred on topics pertaining the application of AI solutions tailored to the healthcare sector (ICU4COVID, AI4HEALTHSEC, Smart Bear, ELOQUENCE), developing AI assistants, predictive models or data analytics methods to anonymize and examine electronic health records. Research activities carried out in these projects have also generated scientific publications in high-level international journals. In the project DS4Health, CNR is currently involved in the development and delivery of an International Master’s Program Empowering Healthcare through Digital Technology.
