The university promotes interdisciplinary learning, innovation, and strong engagement with industry and society. With more than 60 postgraduate programmes and active doctoral research, UNIWA aims to develop graduates and researchers capable of addressing current scientific, technological, and societal challenges.

UNIWA is also active in European and international R&D, participating in programmes such as Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, and Interreg.
