ESI is an applied research and training institute specialising in digital skills, cybersecurity, software engineering, and AI. As part of the European Software Institute network, it supports organisations and public institutions in adopting reliable, secure, and human-centred digital technologies.
With its long-standing involvement in national and European initiatives, ESI contributes expertise in AI for cybersecurity, information integrity, and critical infrastructure resilience. It develops and operates advanced simulation and cyber-range environments, and participates in projects focused on threat detection, crisis preparedness, and disinformation analysis. ESI also works closely with EU and national institutions and industry to shape strategies for AI adoption, education, and governance.
ESI is actively involved in AI-driven competence development, encompassing MOOCs, micro-credentials, and sector-specific training. It designs curricula on prompt engineering, ethical and compliant AI use, and agile transformation in sectors such as IT, fintech, and finance.
